Films are viewed through a kind of spiritual lens, as opposed to focusing on the art form itself, they look for what the works seem to be saying about relationships, values and the human condition. Each review includes a study guide, complete with questions and activities for further exploration. These study guides are developed for small groups. This month's movie review is:

UMC.org Profiles are monthly, audio faith stories that highlight United Methodists with unique perspectives on subjects that are of interest to the denomination. Ten minutes in length, listeners are also provided downloadable PDF transcripts of the program, as well as available resources from agencies and ministries of the Church.

The UMC General Board of Discipleship has a very good site called Horizon. It has lots of resources for leaders and church laity involved in minstry, including an email magazine called eHorizon. You can find their site at http://www.gbod.org/horizon/

Discipleship Journal magazine has two great Bible Reading Plans. The first has one reading from each of the Old and New Testaments each day. The other plan has readings from a Gospel, another New Testament book, a wisdom book, and another Old Testament book each day. You can find information about these reading plans, and download the plans from DJ's web site (http://www.navpress.com/Magazines/DJ/BibleReadingPlans.asp).
