Text Box: A PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP will be held on Sunday, May 3rd, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church on Route 40 outside Grantsville at 2:00 p.m. OUR DISTRICT CONFERENCE will be held following the Pre-conference Workshop at 3:30 p.m. also at Mt. Zion. Those who should attend these meetings are Pastor Sam Wachter, Pastor Amy Chesla, Sue Wachter and Lynn Perry, our delegates to Annual Conference. Any other members may attend if interested. May 21st at 10:00 a.m. the District United Methodist Women’s Day Apart will be held at Mt. Zion, UMC, near Grantsville, MD. This is a day for our UMW to spend in worship and praise, setting themselves apart from the world.

Text Box: WEST VIRGINIA ANNUAL CONFERENCE will be held at West Virginia Wesleyan College June 10th through June 14th. Our delegates this year will be Lynn Perry and Sue Wachter. Pastors Sam and Amy will also be going to Annual Conference. Amy and Sue will both be participating in the Conference Choir. Nick Chesla will also be attending and helping to provide leadership for the Children’s Conference held in conjunction with Annual Conference. Please be in prayer for our Annual Conference session and especially those representing Deep Creek United Methodist Ministries this year.

The Church Council of the DCUMM is scheduled to meet on Thursday, May 21^st, 2009, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Hoyes Chapel . The next scheduled Church Council meeting is on June 18^th, 2009, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Paradise Chapel.

All members of the church are members of the Church Council and encouraged to attend these meetings.

The Pastor Parish Relations Committee will meet on Thursday May 14^th at 7:00 p.m. the Hoyes Chapel. This is an important evaluation and goal setting meeting for the beginning of a new Conference year. At the beginning of July we will be looking at a shift in pastoral leadership. This meeting and the input of all members will help to make the transition smooth. We trust that all committee members will make every effort to be present.

The Board of Trustees will meet on Monday, May 18^th at 7:00 p.m. the Hoyes Chapel. This is a regular bi-monthly meeting to make plans for the care and upkeep of the buildings. Members mark your calendars an plan to be present. The next scheduled meeting is Monday, July 27^that Paradise Chapel.
