Mission Thrift Shop

        The Thrift Shop receives donated clothing and usable household goods and distributes those items by selling them at very modest prices.

        Our mission focus is on home mission projects. 
For over 11 years Mission Thrift Shop goal continues to be humanitarian work to help the Jewell County missions.  

        Projects include purchasing meat for the food pantry, assisting the Jewell county Nutrition Site Utility fund or the Assistant Cook fund, purchasing linens for Jewell County Hospital, helping individuals with emergency needs on a once a year basis, assisting with Parish Office rent, and many other projects.

        The Thrift Shop is operated by a volunteer staff from all of the churches in Jewell County.  The six United Methodist Congregations in Jewell County (which includes two congregations that are not a part of the Parish) help in the Thrift shop on a weekly rotating basis.   These congregations are Harmony U.M.C. in Mankato; Trinity U.M.C. in Jewell; Burr Oak U.M.C. in Burr Oak; Esbon U.M.C. in Esbon; Montrose U.M.C.; and Ionia U.M.C.

Helping Hand Fund

        Guidelines for individual need basis provides emergency funds to residents of Jewell County and to transients.  Applicants can come to the Parish Office during its open hours.
