Mission
|
The mission of the Northern Illinois Conference Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministries is to develop and support Christ-centered ministries of justice, witness, hope and love on college campuses with college students in the Northern Illinois Conference. These ministries include a commitment to:
- Accompanying, supporting, empowering and challenging students in their faith journeys.
- Creating and maintaining caring, faith-centered communities; promoting and supporting educational access for all individuals.
- Affirming existing ministries and developing new ministries in un-served locations.
- Nurturing connections among faith communities, students, campus ministries, and United Methodist Church-related institutions of higher education.

|
5 Priorities
|
The General Board of Higher Education and Ministry Section on Campus Ministry sets five basic priorities before annual conference boards:
- The centrality of students in the mission of campus ministry related to the United Methodist Church.
- Emphasis upon the development of student Christian communities and intercollegiate organizations.
- Outreach to students who have no meaningful relationship to Christ and the church.
- The creation of ministries to campuses not currently served by United Methodist-related campus ministries.
- The encouragement of student participation and leadership in the life of the church, the community, and the world.

Undergraduate Scholarship Applications

|
In continuing the 250+ year history of United Methodist interest and investment in education, the Northern Illinois Conference supports this commitment through the designation of funds for scholarships for higher education, and makes annual awards to encourage our youths of the conference in a pursuit of knowledge coupled with faith, that will seek to serve others through their vocation in the world.
