It is my hope that your relationship with Christ will be
strengthened through your involvement with Methodist men in this area. As
United Methodist Men we should be Christ centered, mission driven, and
prayer oriented.

This all sounds great to any man who has accepted Jesus and entered into
a relationship with him, but what if you have not accepted Christ as your
Savior? If this applies to you then join the crowd. It was not long ago that I
walked in the same shoes as you and what a lonely walk it was. The
pressure to be successful and when the slightest thing went wrong I felt as
if I had failed and then it was up to me to pick myself back up dust myself
off and continue on. Maybe your asking the following questions: where do I
start, what do I do, who can I talk to, who will understand me? I don’t claim
to know all the answers but I can lead you in the right direction. That
direction is Christ. He has been there, he knows what to do, and he will talk
to you in a way that you will understand. Let me give you a piece of advice,
be patient be prayerful and expect results. I have never known anyone who
has accepted Christ to be disappointed with the decision. If you still have
questions then send me an email and I’ll see if I can get you some
answers. After all we are in this life together.

By the way, if you have been called to serve Christ on the District level I
would love to hear from you as well. This ministry is not built by any one
man with many gifts but with many men with many gifts. I would hate for
your gifts to go unused for the glory of God.

DALLAS-DENTON DISTRICT UNITED METHODIST MEN

BY-LAWS

 ARTICLE I – MEMBERSHIP

            Membership in United Methodist Men shall be open to all men in the Dallas-Denton District. 

ARTICLE II – PURPOSE

            The purpose of the Dallas-Denton District UMMen is to work with, advise, and encourage fellowships of the United Methodist men in churches within the District; such as:

1.      Assist the local church groups in becoming chartered organizations under the National organization of UMMen.

2.      Promote plans and projects of the North Texas Conference United Methodist Men, and encourage the support of these activities among the UMMen groups within the District.

3.      Encourage and support the spiritual development of all members of UMMen in the Dallas-Denton District.

ARTICLE III – FISCAL YEAR

            The fiscal year will begin on January 1 and end on December 31.

 ARTICLE IV – EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

            The Executive Committee shall be comprised of five District Officers and four

others as listed below:

1.      President – The President shall be the presiding officer at all meetings and shall have general oversight of the activities of the District UMMen.

2.      Vice-President – There shall be two (2) Vice-Presidents, designated as First and Second.  They will assist the President and preside in the absence of the President.

3.      Secretary – The Secretary shall be responsible for keeping minutes of all meetings, and keep records suitable for filing.

4.      Treasurer – The Treasurer shall collect and disburse all funds of the District UMMen.  He shall prepare an annual budget for approval at the Annual Meeting of the District UMMen.  The Treasurer must also maintain records for audit as required.
