BY-LAWS
ARTICLE I – MEMBERSHIP
Membership in United
Methodist Men shall be open to all men in the Paris-Sulphur Springs
District.
ARTICLE II – PURPOSE
The purpose of the Paris-Sulphur
Springs District UMMen is to work with, advise, and encourage
fellowships of the United Methodist men in churches within the
District; such as:
1.
Assist the local church groups in becoming chartered
organizations under the National organization of UMMen.
2.
Promote plans and projects of the North Texas Conference United
Methodist Men, and encourage the support of these activities among the
UMMen groups within the District.
3.
Encourage and support the spiritual development of all members
of UMMen in the Paris-Sulphur Springs District.
ARTICLE III – FISCAL YEAR
The fiscal year will begin
on January 1 and end on December 31.
ARTICLE IV – EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Executive Committee
shall be comprised of five District Officers and four
others as listed below:
1.
President – The President shall be the presiding officer at all
meetings and shall have general oversight of the activities of the
District UMMen.
2.
Vice-President – There shall be two (2) Vice-Presidents,
designated as First and Second. They will assist the President and
preside in the absence of the President.
3.
Secretary – The Secretary shall be responsible for keeping
minutes of all meetings, and keep records suitable for filing.
4.
Treasurer – The Treasurer shall collect and disburse all funds
of the District UMMen. He shall prepare an annual budget for approval
at the Annual Meeting of the District UMMen. The Treasurer must also
maintain records for audit as required.
