Registration is on a first come, first served basis. |
|
|
|
No on-site registration or substitutions will be permitted. |
|
|
|
Preference will be given to Star and Life Scouts who sign up for
the Eagle required Merit Badges. |
|
|
|
Scouts can register for one, two or all three sessions. |
|
|
|
Some classes may be limited in size due to the nature of Merit
Badge requirements. |
|
|
|
Registration fee will be $5.00 per scout for the day. |
|
|
|
Each troop must provide a minimum of 1 adult per 10 Scouts to
assist with supervision. |
|
|
|
The consolidated registration form for your entire troop must be
returned to meritbadgecollege@hotmail.com |
|
or Matt Flanagan at A4-2B-36 (via EDS employee affiliated with
your troop) ASAP but no later than March 29. |
|
|
|
Registration fees for each troop must be paid by check (drawn from
Troop account) and received ASAP |
|
but no later than March 29. Cash will not be accepted. Check
should be made out to Matt Flanagan and |
|
delivered by the EDS employee affiliated with your troop to Matt
at A4-2B-36. |
|
|
|
Individual Scout registration form and waiver
must be brought by the Scout to sign in on April 16. |

Due to restricted security access at the EDS campus, only
registered Scouts (with signed |
|
registration and waiver form in hand) and registered adult
volunteers will be on the clearance list. |

Siblings and non registered adults cannot be accommodated and will
not be allowed to |
|
enter the building. |
|
|
|
Carpooling is highly encouraged due to security access at the EDS
Campus |
|
|
|
Sign in on April 16 will be open 1 hour prior to the start of each
session. |
|
|
|
Scouts must arrive no later
than 20 minutes prior to the start of each session but are
encouraged |
|
to arrive early. |
|
|
|
Scouts must wear
Class A shirt at a minimum or they will
not be allowed to participate. |
|
|
|
Scouts must bring sack lunch and drink. |
|
There are limited vending machine options available for snacks and
drinks. |
|
|
|
Registration confirmation will be emailed to the Scout Master on
April 8 along with directions |
|
and information for entering the campus. |
|
|
|
Scoutmasters will be sent a list of Scouts and Merit Badge
partials and completions |
|
after the MB College |
|

As your men's fellowship strives to make a difference in your
community, consider using the following programs. These are
sound, proven ways to instill values of character, citizenship and
respect for others while developing a strong reverence to God, self
respect and self reliance.
Scouting “Spring Event” March 17 7:30 p.m.
The UMM also endorse a Boy and Cub Scout “Spring Event,” March 17 at
7:30 p.m. when the Mavericks play the Portland Trailblazers. Tickets
are $21 or $26. The first 400 Scouts who purchase tickets to the game
will receive a Boy and Cub Scout Night patch compliments of the Dallas
Mavericks.
Those attending the Boy and Cub Scout game are asked to meet
immediately following the game in Sections 101 and 124 on the Plaza
Level of the Center. A Mavericks player or coach will speak to the Boy
and Cub Scouts and give them an opportunity to ask questions.

Good Samaritan Award
Individual youth are nominated for this award by the local church or
United Methodist Men Fellowship.
Bishop's Award of Excellence
Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops, Camp Fire and 4-H clubs earn this
award by meeting requirements that are established nationally.
Adults Recognition
Adults should be recognized by being nominated for the following
awards.

Cross and Flame Award -given by the local church

Torch Award -given by the conference

God and Service Award -given by Pray
Church Recognition
Recognize outstanding Ministry with the NAUMS Shepherd Church
Award.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
-
Celebrate a Scouting Ministry Sunday on the second
Sunday in February or March or on a Sunday that suits your
congregation.

Encourage Boy Scout Eagle and Girl Scout Gold Award candidates
to develop projects with the church.

Organize God and Country Program classes for all the
children and youth members from your local church.
-
Sponsor a Scouting Ministry exhibit and / or training
workshop at local church, district or conference meetings.
United Methodist Scouter's Workshop
Category: RELATIONSHIPS Course Description:
- Designed for Chartered Organization Representatives, pastors,
directors of youth ministry, Scout leaders, youth workers, annual
conference coordinators, and those interested in the use of Scouting
to minister to the youth of the church's community. Provides
information on how to fine-tune the Scouting program in order to use
the aims and methods of Scouting to accomplish the goals and
objectives of the Methodist Church.

Religious Emblems for Youth and Adults
Category: RELATIONSHIPS Course Description:
- An overview of the Religious emblems programs from the various
faith groups. The program will cover how religious emblems may be
used to supplement program in units and districts, and how they may
be used for new unit sales. The course is open to registered
Scouters.

Scouting in the Church's Ministry
Category: RELATIONSHIPS Course Description:
- Designed to equip church leaders, elders, youth ministers to use
Scouting as a resource in their ministry to youth and families.
Denominational forums will be provided.

Strengthening Scouting through Diversity
Category: BOY SCOUTING Course Description:
- One of B-P's dreams was to make Scouting a model of cooperation
among people from different backgrounds for the betterment of
mankind. This conference will explore how we can use the ethnic and
cultural diversity in our communities to strengthen and build the
Scouting program. We will explore how to market the program to
various segments of the community and help the Scouts recognize the
many things they have in common. Help develop strategies that will
build a unity of purpose in our country as we move into the 21st
century.

- 06/19/05 through 06/25/05
- For NAUMS and GCUMM it will be a busy summer. In addition to
providing instructors for the Scouting in the United Methodist
Church Conference at Philmont, there is the National Boy Scout
Jamboree and Perdue.
