A Time to Charter
Organizing and Chartering / Recertifying a United Methodist Men's
Unit
There is no secret formula for organizing a successful United
Methodist Men's Unit.
It does not happen overnight. First get
the support of your pastor. Success is dependent upon his or her
enthusiastic support. Arrange a time for a meeting and include
your Methodist Men's president.
At this meeting, make plans for
the steps you will follow to form a United Methodist Men's Unit.
Your plan should include these steps:
Where can my Local Men's unit find a

For less than one week's worth of coffee, tea, or pop, you and
the men of your local church in the North Texas Conference can set
the hearts of men afire. Imagine what our communities, homes,
jobs, churches, and the world would like when MEN seek to touch
the lives of others as we serve in missions, and service.
EMS
Reaching the Hearts of Men for Christ
through
Every
Man
Shares
in Evangelism,
Mission
and Spiritual
Life
Imagine a world, a community, a
church and homes that have men with hearts afire for Christ!
- Men who resemble Christ in their words,
thoughts and deeds.
- Men whose life witness speaks louder than
their talk.
- Men who put into action evangelism through
their relationships, missions through their service, and spiritual
life through their discipleship.
Our faith walk begins by placing our trust in Christ
as Savior, but it becomes potent as we come close to God, and make
ourselves available to God's great plans for our life. Following
Christ in faithful obedience is difficult, and men need all the help
they can get. United Methodist Men are a band of brothers who have
decided to declare the centrality of Christ in their lives, and help
one another on the way.
EMS stands for "every man shares in evangelism,
mission and spiritual life." That's another way of saying that God's
men are given the opportunity to share the abundant gifts they have
been graciously given by God. James 1:22 encourages us all to "be
doers of the word, and not merely hearers." God's plan for each of us
is first to become something new, and then to do new things in God's
will.
United Methodist Men hope that you will join us in
spiritual growth as we become new in Christ, and to touch the lives of
others as we serve them in mission and service. We earn credibility
and opportunity to present Christ to others through our Spirit-filled
lives, selfless service and healthy relationships.
EMS is value packed with resources that help you grow
spiritually--but this is not just about you and what you get. As an
EMS member, you begin a partnership relationship with United Methodist
Men in the crucial ministry work of reaching men for Christ --- in
your local UMC congregation, community, nation and world. EMS will
become a base from which you can grow rich spiritually, and have the
opportunity to invest wisely as a steward of your time, talent and
treasure.
Can you think of anything that can turn our troubled
world around quicker than reaching the hearts of many men in Christ?
It all starts with you---do you want your heart set afire for Christ?
Are you willing to help us reach men? Will you join in partnership
with us to set the hearts of men afire in the United Methodist Church,
and the world?
