History:

The Forty Days of Purpose (FDP) in 2003 over 200 people were involved in 30 small groups.  This experience blew open the excitement that this ministry can have on personal and spiritual growth.  As a result of this and the 40 Days of Community the leadership of the church created a new position: Pastor of Discipleship Ministries assumed by Skip Eggimann. Small Group Ministry is a major part of Skip’s responsibilities.   

After the last FDP a leadership team for Small Group Ministries at Trinity was created by Pastor Skip.  This group continues to meet to help administer and provide assistance and leadership to the small group ministry at Trinity.

The purpose of Small Groups at Trinity is:

1. Worship – focused praise and adoration of our Lord
2. Bible Study – purposeful, in depth teaching/discussion of scripture
3. Fellowship -  Christian community, sharing lives, caring for others
4. Mission - reaching out to others in the church and community.

Outcomes:

1. Have at least 200 people actively involved in at least one small group by 2010.  This includes leadership training and development and intentional outreach to new members.
2.  Recruit and train new small group leaders to start new groups.
3.  Invite Gateway attendees to a small group and Sunday school class.
4.  Recruit and train a small group leader to lead a daytime small group.
