MISSIONARY UPDATE (FROM THE MISSION COMMITTEE)
Mexican Medical Ministries by Christi Gilbert

One of the well known missions that Trinity supports is Mexican Medical Ministries. Its goal is stated in this way: "Mexican Medical Ministries seeks to bring healing and hope to the people of Mexico through helping meet their physical and spiritual needs."
The ministry began in 1963. Its base with the offices and medical supply warehouse is stationed in the San Diego area. Many, or almost all of the staff that work with the ministry are Mexican nationals who stay and work at the mission's facilities. Mexican Medical is not only located in the United States and Mexico, but it has spread into Canada, where it has existed there for a number of years under the name, "Healing and Hope International".
The support Mexican Medical receives comes in many forms. Sometimes it is through prayer, financial support, donation of medical equipment, and the donation of medical supplies. These donations add to the yearly success that Mexican Medical has had. In 2007 alone, teams from Mexican Medical were able to give 6000 health consults to the people in the area of Mexico. The types of consults that these included were general medical, dental, chiropractic, vision, and other types. Other teams have also come down to Mexico to serve the people there in other ways. They have held children's programs, health fairs, film presentations, construction projects of mobile medical units and other projects, and other activities. Our church has partnered with Mexican Medical in the past. We had a team who served the local people of Mexico by holding a health fair and spending time with the children and their families, and the missionary families there too.
Mexican Medical Ministries has been able to impact others physically and spiritually through the things they do for the health and soul of the Mexican people. Many have come to know Christ throught the good works they have witnessed. This is why our church continues to support this Mission. Their constant love, patience, and service to the needy people in Mexico has left us with a desire to help them fulfill their goal.
