Prayer Matters
If you think about
it, there are two ways to interpret the title of this page.
Prayer does indeed matter. It matters a lot. Realizing how
well it works, it is amazing that we often wait so long to pray.
Please join us in prayer, here on this web page, or in person.
- Please
e-mail us with any concerns you
would like us to pray about. Please
include the word "prayer" in the subject line.
- We have a prayer
list that comes out in
our bulletin each Sunday. Please join us to pray for each one by
name.
Here are some
current matters from our prayer list:
- Worldwide:
- Victims of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
- The increasingly intense conflict between
Israel and the Palestinians
- Victims of war and violence around the world,
including all the fighters in all the wars
- For the Prince of Peace to reign over the
world so that
wars can cease
- Nationally:
- Persons affected by Hurricanes Katrina and
Rita who are facing the prospect of a new hurricane season. We
ask prayers to cover all their needs: physical, emotional, and
spiritual.
- For our own military personnel and their
families, and others working in war zones. We have 25 names on
our list, and raise prayers for all the others as well.
- Locally:
- Peace for those who suffer from anxiety or depression.
- For healthy pregnancies and safe deliveries
- All our elderly and infirm
- Those who are dealing with loved ones' illness
and / or aging
- Those who are in nursing homes or
rehabilitation facilities, and their families, and all the staff of
those facilities.
- Those who have lost loved ones.
- Traveling mercies for those traveling over the summer.
- Many have prayers regarding concerns at work.
